Big power, easy spin and a softer feel for 2023

Updated with a slightly softer feel for 2023, the FX 500 is ideal for aggressive players looking to load the ball with pace and spin. At 11.3 ounces strung, this racquet is not only suitable for intermediate players, it should also tempt the more advanced ball striker who wants a speedy option. Compared to the FX 500 Tour, this racquet has a slightly larger head and thicker beam. As a result it has a tad more power, but it still packs enough precision for ambitious targeting. For 2023 the FX 500 gets a more flexible beam, giving it a softer, more arm-friendly response than the previous generation. Dunlop has also tweaked the grommet system to help the string bed return greater energy to the ball (think power). As with the previous generation, the FX 500 benefits from Sonic Core w/Infinergy, which is added to the upper hoop to soften the feel of impact. Additional features include a Power Boost Frame Geometry which combines a speedy aerodynamic profile with a wider throat for stability. Ultimately, the FX 500 is a very formidable modern player's racquet, offering a great blend of speed, spin and power. The softer feel for 2023 is a very nice bonus.

Hidden gemThe Dunlop FX 500 from 2023 is really a hidden gem. Highest twist weight among all 100 inch racquets. It has a big sweet spot, high power level, good spin capacity and maneuverability makes this one a better alternative to Pure Drives. Dunlop is back in the game and going strong. Don't sleep on it...

Most powerful racquet for 2023I played with 2023 Babolat Pure Aero, 2022 Wilson Clash Pro, 2022 Head Speed and Head Radical Pro. This Dunlop racquet is the most powerful one without any effort to swing. I have an issue of generating power so I found this one is the best suited for anyone who wants the power without swinging hard (tennis elbow). Also, the dense string pattern in the middle is best for flat shots with precision aiming targets. Spin is great too. This racquet is the best in my own opinion for 2023 within my collection and my go to stick. Highly recommend.

Swing for your lifeI ordered this one as a test racquet to get easy power. The racquet is good but you really have to swing for your life every shot otherwise nothing happens. So, this one was the opposite for me and I have to find a new one. I have a slow swing speed and need more help with power. I have played tennis all my life, am 45 years old and always played with a heavy racquet like the Pro Staff 6.0 85, 6.1 95 classic, etc. I can recommend this racquet but you really need to swing very hard and fast, not for me but very good balance.

Updates for my previous reviewMore time to play with this racquet, I realized that the FX-500 is so good for my play style. The swing weight, static weight are just right. I have few new 2022-2023 racquets in my own collection but this Dunlop is very special. It reminds me to hit more flat-shots than others and I win more points for those shots. Serves, volley, back hand returns…are all great! Maneuverability, Control and power are all easy and pleasurable. I played it with Solinco Revolution low tension. It’s worth a demo for you

One of the best but underratedI considered this one with the FX 500 Tour…but I went straight with this racquet for a tad more of power. The blue paint job is nice. I wish the grommets were in blue like the latest Head Instinct. This racquet has great potential with some technologies and engineered in Japan. It will make your tennis much easier with lots of power, spin. Great feel and easy maneuver. Surprisingly, precise shots plus flat shots are very nice for a 100 in. head size. Thought that the RA 69 is very stiff but do not let it fool you. It’s softer than other brand. Big thump up to Dunlop! The price is another nice bonus. I played it with no customization but for someone it may play better with more weighted tape… If you’re looking for a racquet with this head size, with “power” in mind, not heavy, easy to play and attack then you should try it. Highly recommended.
